A simple booklet style starts with a saddle-stitched booklet of 8-64 pages with a simple cover. Upping the page count to 40-240 pages makes a perfect-bound book the best choice. This is glued along the spine and suitable for longer books. Wiro binding offers 8-240 pages and is best for lay-flat requirements. Case-bound books (also known as hardback or hardcover) cover 40 -400 pages and offer a premium finish and elevated book style.
If you are producing a book, magazine, catalogue or brochure, we can print those for you in various standard or custom sizes. Starting with a small A6 or DL Portrait, continuing up to the standard A5 and A4 sizes in landscape or portrait. We can also print square books and custom-sized books.
Our saddle-stitched books can be printed in many styles. Below, we have highlighted some of the most popular types of booklets we print. These all suit a stapled binding for booklets or brochures between 8-64 pages in length. We can print these in DL portrait, A4, A5, Square or custom-sized to suit any brand guidelines. Lamination options are also available.
A perfect-bound book has a glued spine, so it is best suited to longer documents. You might see these as chunkier catalogues, lookbooks, brochures, magazines, course manuals or graphic novels. If you have a high page count, choose these: 40-240 pages, in all standard sizes as well as square and custom-sized. We also have a handy spine-width calculator, which will help you determine the spine-width needed. Simply add in your page count and the calculator will work that out for you.
Wirebound booklets are created by printing the pages, stacking them in order, punching holes along the spine, and then threading a wire spiral through the holes to bind them together. This means that they can accommodate a larger number of pages, as well as thicker material stocks, such as our wipe-clean Synaps option. Add 8-240 pages and choose from 3 wiro colour bindings.
Saddle Stitched – Our most affordable option, ideal for Brochures and Booklets with lower page counts. Saddle Stitching involves layering each page on top of one another and stitching down the middle. You can order saddle stitched brochures with page counts as low as eight, but we only offer them with up to 64 pages. Any more than that causes your booklet to appear puffy. Another form of binding would be recommended for higher page counts. You can order saddle stitched booklets in quantities from 25 – 100,000 in increments of one. We offer custom sizes as well as standard sizes. You can order a sample of these, complete with your own artwork.
Perfect Bound – These are available with 40 – 240 printed pages. The pages are glued together at the spine, which allows for more pages than a saddle-stitched booklet. The minimum quantity you can order is 1 up to 10,000. They are available custom-sized so you can design them to your own requirements. Perfect bound brochures are great for a creative design, and their strong, flexible thermal glue means they’re built to last. Need a hand supplying your artwork? Our how to guide walks you through the process, and for selecting your spine width our handy calculator will make sure you get it right.
Hardback – Also known as hardcover book printing. These are our most premium printed books. Available in A4 and A5 portrait and landscape or 210mm square. We offer hardback printing with 40 – 400 pages and in quantities of 25 – 1000. The minimum spine width available is 9mm. Choose to add either matt or gloss lamination to the cover. Ideal for the likes of academic yearbooks and souvenirs.
Wiro Bound – Wiro Bound Booklet printing is exactly as it sounds. A spiral wire is looped around the pages to bind the book and keep it secured. They can be printed in quantities of 25 up to 1000 and with a choice of 3 wire colours. Black, silver or white. We often see these printed as business reports, branded notepads and anything that needs to lie flat, such as workbooks. Wiro booklets contain 8 – 180 pages.
These terms are often used interchangeably, but we would suggest that it depends on the content, page count and binding. A booklet or brochure may contain the same information, but how you want to present it is key. 8- 64 pages could be a simple, cost-effective stapled booklet (also called a saddle-stitched booklet). If your content is longer, you should opt for a perfect-bound option, which has a strong, glued spine and can accommodate 40-240 pages.
Alternatively, if it's a piece of communication that isn't even 8 pages, you could easily opt for a folded leaflet.
The only difference is the size and page count as "let" as a suffix refers to a diminutive version of a noun. In this way, you could say anything that isn't the thickness of War & peace could be referred to as a booklet. We would even count magazines and catalogues as a type of booklet for printing purposes.

Yes, we crease 170gsm silk covers before folding to minimise cracking on the spine. If you're not laminating the cover, we recommend avoiding large areas of dark colour, as these are more likely to crack even with creasing. For the best finish, consider lighter colours or adding lamination.
An 8-page booklet is made up of 8 printed sides – Page1 (cover), Page 2-7 (inside pages), Page 8 (back page)
Yes, of course! The internet is awesome but many people prefer to hold something in their hands to flip through and read. Brochures communicate differently to an online search. There's little risk of people being persuaded to click on the next link with a book - only to turn the page. They are also a great way to encourage upselling, sign-ups, offers, price matching or quotes. A simple search entry online cannot communicate fully.
