Wiro Bound Booklet FAQs
A wiro bound booklet uses a metal wire coil threaded through punched holes along the spine so the pages can lay flat and turn 360° making them great for notebooks, planners, manuals and presentations.
Alongside our standard gloss, silk, and uncoated options, we offer four premium textured and finished cover stocks for wiro-bound booklets: Tintoretto Gesso, Woodstock Bettula, Twill, and Pearl Icewhite. These pair well with the lay-flat, functional nature of wiro binding when you still want the cover to make an impression. Tintoretto Gesso A 240gsm uncoated stock with a laid, fabric-like texture and a warm, off-white tone. Suits manuals, workbooks, or reports wanting a refined, tactile cover. Woodstock Bettula A 285gsm uncoated stock with a soft, felt-like surface and visible fibre flecks, in a pale birch-toned white. A natural option for diaries, journals, or branded notebooks. Twill A 300gsm stock with a fine, woven texture inspired by fabric. A sharp choice for business presentations, portfolios, or corporate documents that need to lie flat and open easily. Pearl Icewhite A 300gsm stock with a subtle pearlescent shimmer over a crisp white base. Good for branded notebooks or presentation materials wanting a more premium finish.
All four premium stocks can be paired with our black or white wire, so you can match the wire finish to the tone of your chosen cover.
You can add lines within your design which will be printed like any other content. We have notepad templates in our Resource Hub for you to download. We do not offer personalisation unless you order single quantities. We are set up to offer mass customisation on booklets, which makes them more cost-effective to print in larger quantities.
They are fully customisable as we start with blank paper. You can design with copy, imagery, lined or grid pages and we will print whatever your design dictates. We have some templates for grids and lines in our Resource Hub

Yes. Because the metal spine punches into the page, leave content well clear of it by using the recommended margin (15 mm) so nothing gets cut off.

The total page count includes the cover. If you pick a 16-page booklet, 4 of those pages will be the cover (Those 4 pages are the outer cover and inner cover pages). The page count includes the cover.

Choose from the dropdown above. A4, A5 or square sizes, with a variety of inner and cover stocks such as gloss, silk, or uncoated paper, plus different wire colours.
Yes. Include 3 mm bleed on all sides. For safe margins, keep text and images at least 15 mm away from the binding edge and 10 mm from other edges to avoid them being too close to the punched holes. The binding comb will fall on the left side of the page on odd-numbered pages, and on the right side of the page on even-numbered pages in your PDF, so please ensure you leave the recommended 15mm on this side to accommodate this.
Yes. One of the main benefits of wiro binding is that the booklet lies flat when open, making it ideal for writing or referencing.
