Board Printing FAQs
Can I have a custom shape board printed?
Yes. You can get your board custom cut.
As long as the shape is simple, we can cut it out of any rigid board product we offer. Corrugated plastic, Dibond, Foamex boards are all available with a custom shape option. Simply follow the instructions on how to supply your artwork for custom cut (that can be found under the artwork guide section on the product page), and we will cut out your board to your desired shape.
Which boards are suitable for outdoor use?
The best boards for outdoor use are Dibond, Foamex and Correx.
Do you offer multiple or internal cuts on boards?
Sadly not, we can only produce a single exterior cut around outer perimeter of the design. We currently don’t offer the ability to produce internal cuts, or multiple different cuts within one artwork.
Can you print white on Acrylic Boards & Plexiglas®?
The most important thing to remember when designing for Acrylic Boards and Plexiglas is that it's a transparent material. This means that if you have any element on your design that is white, it will result in just being see-through plexiglass.
For example, if you have a logo with a white background, that'll be hidden by the transparent nature of Plexiglas. The same applies for text which has a white font colour or even a white outline around it!
This means that you need to make sure that all of your elements are either transparent or don't have any white in them.
Can you print on Correx ® ?
Yes, it prints beautifully.
Is Correx ® a plastic?
Yes, Correx® is a twin-wall polypropylene sheet manufactured by Corplex. This fluted, washable, non-shedding board material is a proper winner for both indoor and outdoor use. Ideal for temporary signage and anywhere you need to transport or store lightweight signs.
What is Correx?
Correx® is a branded term for a lightweight, top quality corrugated plastic board.
Is there a limit to how many drill holes I can have on my board?
We have simplified this process for you, simply choose the number of drill hole you require from the dropdown selections on the page.
Correx® or Foamex?
Whilst it is possible to use the two interchangeably, you could go by this simple rule:
Temporary signage = Correx®
Permanent Signage = Foamex
Can I get my Foamex boards in different thicknesses?
Of course. We offer three different thicknesses. 3mm, 5mm and 10mm. If you plan to reuse your board multiple times, we recommend going for the thickest option.
Are your cardboard signs recyclable?
One of the great things about our Cardboard signs is that when you are finished using them, they are simple to recycle. Our E+E double flute is 80% recyclable; our Compact Pressboard is 100% recyclable, and our Honeycomb is also 100% recyclable.
We want to make sure that we are doing everything we can to reduce waste, so we have done our best to make these signs as environmentally friendly as possible.
Is Foamex suitable for photos?
Yes, Foamex boards are suitable for printing high-quality photographs. They offer vibrant colour reproduction and sharp detail, making them ideal for indoor and outdoor displays. Foamex boards are lightweight, durable, and available in 3mm, 5mm, and 10mm thicknesses.
For optimal results, ensure your artwork meets the following specifications:
- Resolution: 300 dpi for images
- Colour Mode: CMYK
- File Format: PDF/X-1a preferred
- Bleed: 3mm on all sides
- Safe Zone: 5mm from edges
Do you sell aluminium composite signs?
Yes, but we largely refer to them as Dibond sheets. These are printed as single-sided only on a white surface. Anywhere you don't add ink will show the white surface underneath.
Is Correx recyclable?
Yes, it is a PVC Free, corrugated board made of polypropylene making it recyclable.
What is the difference between Correx® & Foamex?
Correx is a corrugated plastic board which is a great choice for temporary signage like festival signage, wayfinding for events or simple, low-cost signage. It is also a top choice for estate agents' "For Sale" boards.
Foamex is sturdier and comes in three thicknesses: 3mm, 5mm & 10mm. It has a very smooth surface as it is not corrugated. Foamex is a popular choice for retail signs, permanent indoor fixtures and permanent display signage. Foamex is also a top choice for wedding signs and welcome signs for events.
How do you supply a double sided board for print?
You should submit a 2-page PDF: Page 1: Front artwork Page 2: Back artwork. Ensure both pages include 3mm bleed on all sides and are in CMYK colour mode at 300 dpi resolution. Keep important content 3mm inside the trim edge (safe zone).
