When we refer to a Flyer, we’re talking about a flat sheet of printed paper. Flyers are most commonly A5 or A6 in size and short in messaging. A Leaflet is typically a bigger sheet of paper which has been folded. They tend to hold more information and when laminated are designed to be kept a little longer.

You might have seen a Folded Leaflet menu, something as detailed as an extensive menu would require more space and layout capabilities that are only available with folding. Flyers on the other hand, would more typically have a small amount of digestible information that could then be tossed in the recycle bin. They’re both low in cost and provide a great marketing tool, but serve slightly different purposes. If it’s a Leaflet you’re looking for, we print them too

We offer a wide range of sizes from Square and DL to the standard A4 Flyer printing. Some paper stocks are available in fewer sizes, but generally you can expect to see:

• 105mm square, 148mm square, 210mm square  

• A3, A4, A5, A6, A7 Flyer printing.

• 1/3 A4 DL (98 x 210mm)

If you’re looking for a specific size, we offer custom size which comes in anything from 100-297mm in width by 100-420mm in height.

Luckily, creating a Flyer is simple! Whether you have an in-house design team or are happy to give it a bash yourself, we have artwork design and technical specifications on each and every product to keep you on track.

If your skills are fairly limited, it might be a good idea to use a more premium paper with a simple design. Make sure your messaging is clear and straight to the point and let the paper do the talking. As long as you make sure to include your branding, location and contact details you’re already effectively promoting your brand.

You don't want anything too thin so stick with something around 120gsm -130gsm in a gloss finish for something a bit shiny.  Of course if you're looking for a matt finish, you can choose an uncoated paper or you can choose to laminate your flyers with a matt, gloss or soft touch lamination.  This adds to their longevity a little and helps avoid scuffs or marks. A bestseller would be a 130gsm gloss finish for us.

Production begins as soon as your order is confirmed and any artwork is approved. We strive to meet the estimated delivery timeframe provided; however, please note that occasional delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances with couriers, which are beyond our control.

VAT is not charged on printed flyers as long as they are between A4 and A7 in size, printed on paper less than 300gsm, and use any stock other than uncoated.

The weight of your paper choice depends simply on how heavy and thick you want the paper to be. 90gsm is the lightest weight you can choose for a budget print run that is still great quality. The heaviest you could choose would be 450gsm which would be a similar rigidity to a business card.

The most popular flyer size is A5 as these are inexpensive to print, easy to hand out, pin to boards, pop through letterboxes or send in the post.

A4 flyers are more like posters, so they are best for pinning up and unpacking more detailed information.

DL flyers are compliment slip-sized and therefore great for mailing.

We offer two ways. Either design online and submit for print, or upload & print. If you upload your design, you can download the handy templates available on every flyer product page to ensure you have the right sizes, crop marks, bleed, and your content stays within the safe zone.

Generally speaking, you should follow these guidelines:

• Include a 3mm bleed on all sides

• All content within a 3mm safe zone (ideally 5mm if possible)

• Supply as a CMYK PDF ready to upload

• Outline or embed fonts and make sure the font sizes are all legible

• 300dpi resolution

There is no definitive answer here, it is whatever finish feels right for your brand and message.  Get a "homemade and crafty" look with a Kraft flyer; go ultra glossy for a lip gloss commercial flyer -  you can make your flyer finish work for your own message.

This is where you'll find really interesting papers made from hemp, uncoated cotton and woven bamboo.

Gloss is glossy, shiny and highly reflective; this finish delivers colours that look vibrant.

Matte is flat; it doesn't reflect light, which delivers a finish that is easy to read. Matte flyers often have a natural, slightly vintage look, and the colours will look deep as the ink is easily absorbed by the paper.

Silk is a happy medium between the two, a silky smooth finish with a slight sheen.

Whether you need to add lamination depends on whether you want a specific finish or to protect the print.

Lamination offers two distinct purposes. The first being that lamination can protect the print itself and make the flyer easier to handle without marking or scratching the print. The second is that it delivers a specific-looking finish, which can enhance the print.
