A stapled booklet, also known as a saddle-stitched booklet, is a set of pages folded and bound together with staples through the spine. It's one of the simplest and most cost-effective formats in booklet printing, which is why it's so widely used for newsletters, guides, manuals and simple catalogues.
Stapled booklets work best for projects with lower page counts. The saddle stitch binding method has a practical limit compared with perfect binding, so if a project runs to a high number of pages, a different binding method may suit it better.
There's a good range of cover stocks to choose from, including textured options such as Woodstock Bettula and Twill, along with smoother finishes like Pearl Icewhite. Lamination can also be added to the cover for extra durability and a more polished finish.
Artwork should be supplied as a CMYK PDF with a 3mm bleed on all sides, all fonts outlined or embedded, and a resolution of 300dpi. A 5mm quiet border (10mm is recommended) helps keep text and important content away from the edge, avoiding anything being trimmed too close to the fold or edge of the page.
