A Frames & Posters FAQs
We make A-frames to fit A1 posters (594 x 841mm) and A2 posters (420 x 594mm). A1 is easier to read from across a street, so it suits a pavement outside a café, shop or salon. A2 suits a doorway, a reception area or a narrow pavement where a bigger board would get in the way.
Yes. Once you have the frame, you only need to buy new posters. Order "Poster only" in the same size whenever you change your menu, run a seasonal promotion or advertise a new open day. Pubs and restaurants often keep one frame and swap the poster every few weeks.
This is the beauty of an A Board: you can change your message seasonally, weekly or whenever you need to draw more footfall. The posters themselves are inexpensive and won't get damaged by the weather.
A-frames stand on the pavement on their own, so a strong gust can catch them. Put yours somewhere sheltered, close to solid walls or in recessed areas. Bring it in overnight or in high winds, and perhaps anchor it with something safe.
An A1 A-frame weighs 6.9 kg
An A2 A-frame weighs 3.8 kg
We also sell forecourt stands, which come with a base which can be filled with water or sand to give it more resistance to the weather.
Choose an A-frame if you want a printed, branded design with photos and your logo. It looks the same every day, and you only buy a new poster when you want to change it.
Chalk Boards suit specials that change daily, because you can rub them out and rewrite them in minutes. Our chalkboards have space for a printed logo or contact details and space to write your own messages. They are best for indoor or sheltered areas, as they are not really waterproof.
An A1 frame with two posters starts at £88.13 ex VAT with Saver delivery, and replacement posters cost less on their own. Free Mainland Delivery Within The UK.
You can choose:
The frame only
The frame with two posters
Or the posters only.
If you choose the frame with two posters, we print your design on both, so it reads the same from both directions along the pavement. The posters are printed on 410gsm PVC, which won't soak through if it rains.
The frame with two posters prints the same design on both. If you want a different message on each side, such as lunch on one and dinner on the other, order the frame only and add two separate "Poster only" orders.
Many UK councils require you to get a licence or permission before you put an A-board on the public pavement, and some don't allow them on certain streets. Check with your local council before you put yours out. Signs on your own forecourt or inside your premises usually don't need permission.
For a petrol station, a car dealership or any exposed forecourt next to a busy road, choose a Forecourt Sign, which is built for bigger, more exposed sites. If you need a sign fixed to a wall or a railing and left there, look at rigid boards or PVC Banners.
Upload a CMYK PDF, ideally PDF/X-1a, at 1:1 scale and 150dpi. Keep text and logos at least 10mm inside the edge, and ideally 25mm, because the frame covers the outer edge of the poster. Templates are available in EPS, PDF and InDesign, and every order gets a free artwork check.
