There are four materials, and the choice comes down to how rigid you want the card:

All four are printed in full colour, on one side or both. Optional magnetic strips, foiling or signature strips can be added.
Anything that isn’t printed stays see-through, so the background behind the card shows through your design. Bold, dark colours read best. Pale colours and fine text can be hard to make out against whatever’s behind the card.
They’re wipe clean and far tougher than paper cards, so a splash or a damp pocket won’t spoil them.
Plastic cards are 86mm x 54mm, the same size as a credit card. That’s slightly different from our 85mm x 55mm paper cards, so use the plastic card templates (AI, PDF or InDesign) and don’t reuse a paper card file. Add 3mm bleed on every side, keep important content 3mm inside the trim, and send a CMYK PDF at 300dpi.

Teslin cards have a PVC overlay on a lighter core, so they bend a little and cost less. Solid plastic cards are stiffer and feel like a bank card in the hand. If the card will live in a wallet and be used again and again, go for solid plastic.

While 850mic cards are thicker than 760mic, they are not made from solid plastic. The 760 mic solid plastic card feels sturdier and more premium, similar in thickness and rigidity to a standard credit or debit card. This is why, despite being thinner, the 760 mic solid plastic option is typically priced higher.
All cards are wallet-sized (86mm x 54mm landscape or portrait) and can be customised further with magnetic stripes or signature panels, making them suitable for practical uses like hotel room keys or membership cards.
