Sustainability That Goes Beyond the Display

At Tradeprint, we believe sustainability shouldn’t stop when a banner comes down. That’s why we’re launching a pilot Banner Return Scheme, giving customers a practical way to recycle both PVC and PVC-free banners responsibly.

Traditional PVC banners have long presented environmental challenges: they’re difficult to recycle, derived from fossil-based materials, and can release harmful substances at end-of-life. By shifting to PVC-free alternatives, stronger, lighter, easier to recycle, and with a lower carbon footprint, we’re helping move print towards a more circular model.

But switching materials is only part of the solution. To make a real impact, we need to support customers in closing the loop.

TRADEPRINT BANNER RETURN SCHEME - Antalis and Anth

Why is this important to Tradeprint?

The scheme is designed to reduce the environmental impact of printed banners by diverting waste from landfill and supporting customers in making more informed, sustainable choices. It also forms part of Tradeprint’s wider effort to build credibility through transparent action and measurable progress. Importantly, it supports our commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards and aligns with our roadmap to reach Net Zero by 2040.

Anthony Rowell Profile

"Moving away from problematic plastics like PVC is a meaningful step in our transition to more sustainable materials, and we’re committed to bringing our customers with us on that journey. By explaining the ‘why’ behind the change and highlighting the benefits of the new products we’re introducing, we can protect and grow revenue while doing the right thing. More than that, our biggest ambition is to lead by example — to inspire other businesses to consider introducing similar schemes and accelerate positive change across the industry.

Why is this important?

Traditional PVC banners have long posed environmental challenges. They’re hard to recycle, rely on fossil-based materials, and can release harmful substances at end-of-life. By encouraging a shift to PVC-Free banners, which are lighter, easier to recycle, and have a lower carbon footprint, we’re moving towards a smarter, circular future. But simply switching materials isn’t enough. We need to help customers close the loop, too.

Where can I recycle my banner?

You can return your banner to one of our dedicated recycling centres, in collaboration with Antalis. Alternatively, you’re welcome to drop it off directly at Tradeprint HQ in Dundee, Scotland.
