Production Assistant



As Production Assistant you will work within the factory ensuring all general tasks and duties as advised by the Production Supervisor and/or task lists are carried out effectively and promptly.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To work within the factory and immediate areas to remove waste and secure such for uplift and recycling as appropriate.
  • To load and unload goods using equipment as required, as suited and licenced for task. To assist any duties deemed applicable and suitable by the Production Lead. Such operations will be carried out on a revolving shift rota, including night shifts. Such shifts may change in their structure to suit the development of the business.
  • Provide additional cover within the Print Factory in the absence of any Packer or Print Assistant e.g. holidays & sickness, busy periods, etc.
  • Ensure all work carried out is of a high standard and good productivity standards are achieved. This will include the correct and safe storage of materials and stocks as per training guidelines and instructions.
  • Ensure any machinery / equipment used is maintained in a clean and safe operating condition. Weekly safety checks are to be carried out on each machine (such as fork truck and manual handling equipment). Such checks to be recorded as instructed.
  • Manual Handling procedures are to be adhered to and followed at all times. This includes the safe use of Materials Handling Equipment such as Pallet Trucks, and using such pallet trucks as detailed in Training and / or Manufacturers Guidelines.
  • Report any malfunctions, damages or breakdowns immediately to the Production Supervisor.
  • Assist within Packing / Print Finishing (if suitably trained or supervised) and/or Plates department of the factory as and when instructed by Production Supervisor.
  • Ensure all working practices are in line with Tradeprint’s continuing Quality Assurances, including those set out by ISO9001 /14001
  • Ensure all working practices are in line with Tradeprint’s Health & Safety and Environmental Policies, including the wearing and use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment or clothing issued or supplied.
  • Monitor all stock levels of raw materials and report any discrepancies or low stock levels to the Production Lead. This includes items such as Gas Supplies. Such goods to be ordered or advised.
  • Such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with the level of responsibility. Refer to training notes for Production Assistant for further details.
  • All staff will make reasonable efforts to attend and assist with the Company’s on-going and developing Training Programmes and Initiatives.

Finer Details

This role is a permanent full-time role, based in our Dundee factory. In this role, you will work 40 hours a week, in a range of shift patterns between 10pm Sunday, and 10pm Friday.
